Keeping it real online for the BRIISS!
Well you may be interested to know that was a permissive person in a way. Prior to , the mosaic law very strictly outlined what the Israelites could and could not do. The Pharisees of the day took this even further creating their own strict set of boundaries ontop of what the law outlined. But in Matt 23:23 said:
This scripture shows the effect of permissiveness in the area of work. Here, little by little the man became more and more permissive towards his work ethic. The end result is that he and his family have poverty.
The same principle applies to other areas of life such as recreation, sexual misconduct and dress and grooming. Permissiveness allows our healthy outlook on these areas to gradually change little by little over time. The end result is disastrous for us and for those around us. I am going to read out a few things, consider the effect that these following things have on not just the person involved, but their family and friends also:
? Gambling, Divorce, Teenage Pregnancy, Smoking , justice and mercy and faithfulness.
Here was highlighting that the Pharisees had gotten so strict that they had missed the point of the law. Which as said was to “love god and love your neighbor”. So when it comes to things not strictly stated in the bible, we need to be lenient like was, and not force our own rules on our brothers and sisters.
We had a number of people who were astounded at the fact that we had not been living together before marriage. Salespersons, doctors, friends and work colleges all commented that they were surprised.
Because society is becoming more permissive – in almost every aspect. Where social boundaries used to exist 50 years ago, there is little remaining in the way of a social norm these days.
This all has to do with the permissiveness of our society – which is the tolerance of something that others might disapprove or forbid. As ians, what is our view on permissiveness? Do we flow with the trends in society?
However when it comes to things clearly outlined in the bible, also set the example the follow – he was not permissive and he defended ’s principles. Think about that time when overthrew the money tables in the temple. He was not permissive when it came to standards clearly outlined in the bible. We would want to show the same attitude for two reasons :
Proverbs 24: 33 A little sleeping, a little slumbering, a little folding of the hands to lie down, 34 and as a highwayman your poverty will certainly come and your neediness as an armed man.
Showing permissiveness towards these things that the bible clearly condemns, produces dipterous end consequences for ourselves, our family and our brothers and sisters.
However if we avoid being permissive to things we know are not right, that will benefit all of us.
Matt 23: 23 “Woe to YOU, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because YOU give the tenth of the mint and the dill and the cumin, but YOU have disregarded the weightier matters of the Law, namely,
|
| They are studying how low-frequency sound, polarized light, smell, as well as changes in barometric pressures, could be used by birds to help them to navigate Others are trying to ascertain the means by which some birds are able to detect magnetism
Before the mystery is finally solved, there will no doubt be much more to surprise us in a field that has already produced many surprises
